Vanessa Allen
Designer
I have had a long standing love of colors, textures and patterns. You could imagine how “creative” I looked as a child, loving all the colors, needing all the hair ties, staking all the slouchie socks. As I got a bit older, I started traveling and becoming more aware of architecture, landscapes and cultures. For me, the natural melting pot for these loves was Interior Design. I graduated from The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising with a degree in Interior Design. Shortly after earning my degree, I began my career of designing and staging in Oakland, California. The next step in my career, took me into the heart of downtown San Francisco. While I was busy building upon my knowledge and expanding my career, the Dot Com bubble burst, and the interior design industry suffered greatly. I looked this set back as an opportunity, and felt like I could further grow and hone my skills within an office environment, so, I went into administrative and office management. Life continued in a new direction, I got married and started a family. I took some time to enjoy raising my three children (as it is an all consuming job). Now that my nights include more sleep, and my kids are a bit older, I am able to get back to my creative roots and design spaces that reflect my client’s needs and dreams.
